- Abstract:
- The security of modern society and an individual is seriously tested by a terrorist threat, which is often perceived as something external, that violates relative social harmony and order. Attempts to seal society, to protect it from any form of extremism, lead to huge public costs, but do not lead to the elimination of the threat. The article discusses the problem of sociocultural mechanisms of terrorism dissemination and the question of how philosophical framework of public security strategy should be changed to withstand these mechanisms. The security theory developed in the article draws upon J. Baudrillards concept that considers terrorism a manifestation of sociocultural code violation and likens it to the virus. It examines ontological aspects of social immune forces decrease in the context of the virtualization of social being, the growth of instability and turbulence. Particular attention is paid to social networks, one of the major parts of communication environment that allows to transport the virus of terrorist propaganda and increases its virulence. The results of the research integrate philosophical ideas that can help in developing the conceptual foundations of security system in the new social conditions - turbulent society.
