ORPHANS: DEVELOPMENT OF FEELINGS OF SOCIAL SAFETY AND PROTECTION

Abstract:
In 2015, there were more than 621 700 children in orphan houses, which is 2.19 percent of the total child population in Russia. In children and adolescents living on full state support, are not fully formed vital skills and features such as independence, responsibility, ability to make decisions, and others, which directly affects the development of feelings of social safety and security. The majority of graduates of orphanages is experiencing serious difficulties in solving such important life's problems as: what kind of professional education they want to have, how to find job and what kind of job is suitable for them, how to manage money, and so on. The article presents the results of a research which aim was to develop pedagogical support of the development of feelings of social safety and protection of orphans and children left without parental care. Theoretical background, forms and methods of social development, professional orientation and labor education of orphans are discussed from a new angle, ensuring the growth of pupil's subjective position, activity and independence, which will solve the problem of social self-protection, overcoming dependency and consumer position in life. The main idea is to create in orphan schools environment, which can force children to become an active and deliberate in protection his (her) rights and interests, not infringing on the rights and interests of other people. Few guidance books for adolescence-orphans, training for teacher had been presented through all over Russia in twelve regions from Kaliningrad to Irkutsk, monitoring of results had been provided. The results of the research allowed to reveal the features of social development of children in orphanages, to justify, develop and introduce into practice a program of professional orientation, labor education, professional self-determination and the development of feelings of social safety in this category of children.
