VIRTUAL SPEAKER Presentation
- Each participant registered as a Virtual Speaker must prepare a presentation and join live via ZOOM during the respective plenary session.
- The Virtual Speaker should check the plenary schedule regularly as last-minute changes are possible.
- Each Speaker undertakes to be in the Zoom session from the very beginning to the very end, as displacements are also possible.
- To fully ensure the smooth running of the plenary program, each participant must prepare his presentation in advance, record it (as an mp4 clip or similar playable format) and send it via e-mail at least 1 week before the start of the event (or upload it through his EMS profile, when the programme is already announced).
- During the preparation of the record, only the main author or his co-author is allowed to present the relevant report.
- Pre-recording does not allow the use of AI-voice or any other application - the presentation must be made personally by the author or his co-author.
- The pre-recorded file with the presentation will be used just in case of a technical problem on the day of the presentation - this does not release the author from his live participation.
- Even in cases of playing a pre-recording, the author undertakes to be available in the Zoom session and be ready to answer any questions after the end of the recording.
- If, on the day of the presentation, a representative of the author's team does not participate live during the ZOOM session, the pre-recording will not be broadcasted and the Speaker will be considered absent. In this case, a CERTIFICATE of ATTENDANCE in the event is not issued!
- A CERTIFICATE of ATTENDANCE in the event is issued only to the leading author - the one who has registered for the relevant event.
A few recommendations for preparing a successful ORAL Presentation:
-
- The main goal of your oral presentation is to get the audience interested in your work.
- All presentations have to be made in English;
- Speak slowly, use short sentences;
- The presentation has to be done in PowerPoint format (or other self-executive multimedia);
- To make your oral presentation more effective it may be structured as follow:
- outline of main points (one slide at the beginning in the form of a table of contents);
- introduction (demonstrate the importance of the topic);
- details of main points in the research (limit the number of points you make, be clear when you are switching to a new point);
- conclusion (a summary of your main points).
- Use max. 1-2 slides per minute of your presentation, and 4-5 points per slide;
- Use clear titles, use graphs and figures rather than just words; use enough large fonts so that the presentation to be easily readable;
